We have been making mats for martial arts for many years.
Long enough to remember when almost every dojang relied on traditional EVA puzzle mats, stacked, locked, unlocked, replaced piece by piece.
They worked. For a long time, they worked well.
But as taekwondo evolved — into international competition, afterschool programs, summer camps, and multi-purpose training spaces — we began hearing the same sentence again and again from coaches and school owners:
“I don’t want to rebuild my floor every day.”
That sentence is where our Taekwondo roll mats story really began.
Traditional taekwondo mats are usually EVA puzzle mats. They are square, fixed in size, reversible in color, and easy to replace one by one. For many dojos, they are still a practical option, especially when budgets are tight and taekwondo mats cheap is the priority.
But puzzle mats also come with limitations:
Fixed 1m × 1m dimensions
Visible seams everywhere
Time-consuming installation for large spaces
Storage becomes a problem when the space must be cleared
As international events, afterschool programs, and multi-use gyms became more common, many customers started asking about roll out mats — something faster, cleaner, and easier to manage.
That’s when we began developing what we now call our roll mat for taekwondo.
Unlike puzzle mats, Taekwondo roll mats are designed as a complete flooring system, not individual pieces.
Instead of EVA particles, we use environmentally friendly XPE foam — cleaner, more stable, and free from formaldehyde. When you walk into a new dojang covered with roll out mats, there’s no irritating smell, just a clean training space.
Instead of mixed foaming, we use flame composite technology, bonding layers more evenly and improving long-term durability.
The surface is finished with vinyl leather, available in both smooth and tatami texture, depending on the tatami mat use — striking, grappling, or mixed disciplines like #karate and #judo.
And unlike puzzle mats, roll mats are not limited by square dimensions.
A standard competition area such as 12m × 12m can be produced as a continuous layout, with clean lines, correct spacing, and custom logos — exactly what you see in official WT-style setups.
When the Floor Can Roll, the Space Can Change
One detail we’re particularly proud of is the Velcro connection system.
Each flooring roll links seamlessly with the next, creating a smooth and stable surface. When training is over, the mat can be rolled up, secured, and stored neatly.
For schools that run:
#afterschool programs
#summercamp activities
#parkour or #ninja classes
Multi-purpose community spaces
this flexibility changes everything.
The floor no longer controls the schedule.
The schedule controls the floor.
This is why many customers who once searched for puzzle roll up mat solutions eventually move to puzzle roll up mats replaced by full roll out systems.
Although primarily designed as taekwondo roll mats, many clients also ask about tatami mat BJJ applications.
The truth is simple:
Roll mats work best for striking-based arts and structured movement. For BJJ and judo, thicker systems or specialized tatami setups are still recommended.
That said, for mixed-use schools — where taekwondo shares space with #karate, #judo basics, or youth grappling — roll out mats offer a practical balance between performance and space efficiency.

Traditional Taekwondo Mats vs Roll Out Mats
We often explain it like this:
Traditional puzzle mats are modular and flexible in replacement
Roll out mats are integrated and flexible in space management
Puzzle mats are ideal when:
Budget is the main concern
The space is permanent
Visual seams are acceptable
Roll mats are ideal when:
The venue changes or shares space
Quick setup and storage matter
Competition layout and branding are important
Neither is “better” — they simply solve different problems.

The images you see are not from a showroom.
They are from our factory floor.
Every flooring roll is cut, bonded, printed, tested, rolled, and packed with one question in mind:
“How will this mat be used, not just how does it look?”
That mindset is why schools come back to us — not just for one order, but for years.

At the end of the day, Taekwondo roll mats are not just about material or structure. They’re about how a space feels when students step onto it.
Quiet. Clean. Stable. Professional.
That’s what we aim to deliver — whether it’s for a competition venue, a neighborhood dojang, or a summer camp that turns into a training hall every afternoon.
If you’re considering upgrading from traditional mats, or planning a new space that needs flexibility, our roll mat for taekwondo may be the solution you’ve been looking for.
